Transforming Potential into Perfection: A Modern Urban Home Redesign

This project involved a complete transformation of an urban family home, ideally located close to schools and shops but in need of a design overhaul to meet modern living standards.

While the house had great potential, its layout was restrictive. A glass conservatory to the rear was impractical, being either too hot or too cold, and the kitchen was a small, dark space that didn’t serve the family’s needs.

Our design solution brought new life to the home by focusing on functionality, light, and space:

  • The attached garage was converted into a new utility and wet room, creating practical storage and convenience for the family.

  • The glass conservatory was demolished, and a new open-plan extension was added, enlarging the kitchen by removing the old utility space.

  • The rear extension featured a flat roof, allowing for higher ceilings and taller windows and doors. This design flooded the new open-plan space with natural light, creating a bright and airy heart of the home.

  •

The result is a modern, spacious, and light-filled family home that is both practical and beautiful—designed to meet the needs of urban living without compromise.
