This holiday home in Kenmare required a complete rethink of its layout, functionality and energy performance.

The existing house suffered from poor flow, tight internal spaces and limited natural light. The renovation focused on opening up the main living areas, improving connections between rooms and creating a stronger relationship with the surrounding landscape.

A standout feature of the project is the new corner glazing, which floods the living space with natural light and frames views of the surrounding countryside.

The works also included the creation of a new shower room, improved circulation throughout the home, and significant energy upgrades including new windows and doors, wall and attic insulation, and an upgraded heating system.

Externally, a gabion basket retaining wall was constructed to overcome the sloping site, creating a generous patio area and enhancing the home's outdoor living space.
