This project involved the complete renovation of a derelict family cottage, transforming it into a modern, energy-efficient home while retaining its original character and connection to the family.

A key part of the renovation was the removal of a large central chimney, which opened up valuable space throughout the house and allowed for the creation of a bright, functional kitchen and dining area.

​

The internal layout was also reconfigured, including the relocation of the staircase to create a defined entrance hall and improve the flow of the home. These changes also enabled a more efficient first-floor layout with two bedrooms and a shower room.

Alongside the layout improvements, the property underwent a full energy upgrade, achieving an impressive A1 BER rating.

The result is a comfortable, efficient family home that respects the history of the original cottage while meeting the needs of modern living.
